Mass spectrometry sample preparation course

8th – 9th September, 2016

Vienna BioCenter (VBCF)

Registration fee € 200 + 20% VAT

Course instructors: Garwin Pichler, Nils Kulak (Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry and PreOmics, Martinsried, Germany).

Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics enables the parallel identification, characterization and quantification of hundreds to thousands of proteins in complex samples. The complete workflow for MS-based proteomics consists of sample preparation, chromatography and MS measurement and data processing as well as evaluation.

This 2-day course is suitable for beginners and those familiar with applications of Mass Spectrometry in the Life Sciences. Participants will receive hands-on training in all steps of sample preparation using mammalian cells for complete proteomics and immunoprecipitation experiments for interaction proteomics.
