Extended Opening Hours
We offer extended opening hours, Monday - Friday: 7am - 6pm.
The Child Care Center is run by Wiener Kinderfreunde and hosts not only little researchers from the Vienna Biocenter but from September 2012 onwards also young media kids from the Media Quarter Marx.
First and foremost the head of our Child Care Facility, Dagmar Mirek, and her highly motivated team provide a loving and caring atmosphere. Besides that they offer:
A creative surrounding that includes excursions into the countryside, kids theatre, visits to strawberry fields, ice skating and everything a childrens heart desire.

As soon as your kid starts eating solid food in the Child Care Center there is an additional fee for food of 125€ per month.
Those prices apply to families that live in Vienna and are working for companies that contribute to the costs of the Child Care Center. Prices for families living outside Vienna/or do not work at the Vienna Biocenter/MQM available on request.
first of all we would like to welcome you at the Vienna Biocenter and our Child Care, that hosts little researchers from 3 months up to 6 years.
Our aim is to create your start in the Child Care as simple and smooth as possible, nevertheless there is a formal procedure to fulfill the legal requirements of the City of Vienna and to facilitate the organization of our day to day work:
1. Non-binding registration at the Child Care: as soon as you realize that you need a slot in our Child Care please contact Dagmar Mirek to get a tour and discuss your preferred starting date. At that point also hand the completed form A (Registration CCC), so that we can place a reservation for you. If you come from abroad please forward the form via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A BINDING RESERVATION.
2. Apply for a registration number (“Kindergartennummer”) at the Magistrate (MA 10): for enrolling in any Child Care in Vienna you need a registration number from the Magistrate in Vienna. To receive this number just fill in form B (Anmeldung für das Verzeichnis der Wiener Kindergartenkinder-Kundinnennummer) and either mail it via snail mail or fax, or hand it to the responsible service center in person. 3. Binding registration at the VBC Child Care Center: again please fix an appointment with Dagmar Mirek to sign the binding registration and agree on the actual starting date. To fix the registration please bring a deposit of EUR 65,00 and a registration fee of EUR 55,00. This appointment also gives you the opportunity to meet our teachers and to clarify any questions that might occur before your start.

We consider a nursery to be an institution of education. It is our aim to create learning opportunities and at the same time to make children feel completely at home in their daytime surroundings.

Meeting the needs of children has been the central focus of Kinderfreunde's work with parents for 100 years. The amount of parent-work we do in our nurseries is defined by the needs and the interests of the parents.
